And now our regular comedic interview of Professor Anda-Man by our host Chuulmaan Khan.
Chuulmaan: Welcome back to yet another episode of our show, where we interview 15 times Nobel prize nominee(never won any), Professor Anda-Man. Today’s topic the science of Life-Time.
Chuulmaan: More specifically, the science in pop culture.
Anda-Man: Well, science has always been my favourite subject, ma boy. I scored 50/50 in science in 3rd grade. However the later record isn’t that great. But, I love it.
Chuulmaan: So, Prof, We often see there are many exaggerations that writers and artists make when creating a piece of art. Does it bother you that these fictional elements can give a wrong expression to the public?
Anda-Man: Sure, it does. But that’s what the criticality rating is about. A movie as close to the subject should be rated higher while something that doesn’t go close should be rated lower, in my opinion. However, the current generation seems to have misunderstood the theory.
Anda-Man: According to them, the more enjoyable it is, the higher the rating. For example, if you tell me that recent Star Wars/Trek films are good sci-fi, I’ll at best give them 2/10. Because, they’re not scifi at all. They’re fantasies. They’re fantasies with 8/10 rating. A good science fiction doesn’t start and end with laugh out loud gags. They should delve into the possibility of the things and explore the human nature, not just boast on BOOM-BOOM action and cheap social media comedy.
Chuulmaan: But there are also people who say that Sci-fi is actually a term for cheap fantasy science fictions. And actually good stories are the ones falling in the Science Fiction Category.
Anda-Man: Yes, there are. But, today’s world has many abbreviations, right? So, what does Sci mean? What does Fi mean? Sci-fi is a direct short Science Fiction. I can’t call it a sub-category of Science Fiction if it seems exactly like a short term for the real thing. Science itself uses many shorts. Either you say Ag or Gold, Au or Silver, they all mean elements. Scifi is only a short term, to what I can understand.
Chuulmaan: Hmm….what would you say about the science of Life-Time.
Anda-Man: Well, heh…not to toot my own horn. Whatever I’ve seen yet seems like the writer has done some research and done a little thought process to see how things may work. But obviously, it’s not accurate. After all, it’s fiction, aka, Science Fiction.
