Pramit, are you a fan of science fiction stories written by Spider Robinson?
There’s one where the antagonist is “a man with a time machine,” who is not a time-traveller. Time travellers do exist in Mr. Robinson’s books, however. In the HG Wells sense.
Hello, Siva,
Actually I haven’t read any of the great science fiction authors much. You can say I’m a total novice, who had an idea and wanted to do something with it. Since many other scifi comics and movies out there take the science very lightly and fill story with character comedies and tragedies, I wanted a story to make people feel the science and little details around it.
The elements in these first few pages are a little too vague, but they’ll be cleared in due time. We’re on the 20th page of a graphic novel that can go more than 200 pages. I can only hope that you don’t lose interest ’til we get to the end.
You can subscribe to the newsletter if you’d like to keep a track of the updates.
Thanx for reading.
I’m not one to lose interest easily. That said, I /have/ read many works by many authors of classic science fiction. They did not take the science lightly, for the most part. Spider Robinson took it less seriously than Robert Heinlein, for example. HG Wells is acknowledged as the the first to publish a true science-fiction story.
There is a risk for creative people in reading the works of other writers. Once you have read the works, they may “give you ideas” that sort of pollute your own. Sometimes this is good, but sometimes this is bad.
Still, I wanted you to know about Mr. Robinson’s series in particular, because only that one book seemed to have anything like what you are doing. I don’t think you should read it before you are done with Life-Time, but I do think you should read more classic science-fiction in general, and that volume in specific. It will be distinct from the rest of the series because it is one of two whose setting is a brothel, and the other volume has a character who is one person in two bodies.
Hello, Siva,
I’ll certainly look into both of the writers’ works as I’m sure interested in them as well.
Unfortunately, I don’t get sidetracked that easily. I created the main story of Life-Time in 2011 and till now, nothing much has changed. the plot is still the same no matter how many movies I see or books I read on the subject.
Hope you enjoy reading the rest of the series.
Thanx.
