Rakshak update.
Rakshak has to be a series that did start a new time in my art career. Although, I can’t exactly say that it’s best work because obviously, Life-Time is my best work, but it’s my very first long term work. In last 2 , ever since I was hired by Yali Dream Creations in January 2016, it has been over 250 black n white comic pages I’ve turned in withing July 2016. So, yeah, I’ve a good turnaround time. In next few months, Rakshak issue 4 will be out, containing 85 pages total.
Shamik Dasgupta, Rakshak’s creator, is also planning a second arc of the character. I’ll definitely be a part of it as long as the creator and YDC would like me to be. I’ve trying to give it as much time, but keeping to the schedule, budget and maintaining a good level for the artstyle is a tough job. The comics scene, either in India or in any other country, is pretty loose. People have got so many different entertainment devices, that comics are losing market. But we still keep working.
